Right from West Yorkshire in the North of England, the tightly-knit collective of musicians leaded by Robert Burbidge known as Rubberlips comes with ‘Something Different This Time’ through Our Nights Recordings. A four tracks EP in where disco sounds meets pure emotiveness.
While listening the EP, we can easily notice how confortable they feel creating epic pieces of Nu-Disco; layering multiple analog synthetic sounds, cinematic pianos, distant voices, emotional trumpets, strings and vibes to get an impressively great result wich it is not easy to achive. They do know how to shape interesting paths to lead the listener to a psychonautical disco journey. Something different indeed.
